Living accommodations on Kwajalein consist of houses, trailers, and bachelor quarters. Accompanied personnel live in houses and some trailers. Unaccompanied personnel live in bachelor quarters and some trailers. Accommodations are fully furnished. Employees without cooking facilities receive a meal card.

Bicycles are the standard means of transportation on Kwajalein. The main retail facilities include a supermarket, a quick-shop store, a department store, and a sporting goods/gardening store.

Ample recreational facilities include a saltwater swimming pool, a nine-hole golf course, a bowling alley, movie theaters, hobby shop, fitness center, tennis and racquetball/handball courts, softball and soccer fields, basketball courts, recreation centers, and the marina boat rentals. Other recreational opportunities include fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, reefing, and sunbathing/swimming on beautiful white coral sand beaches.
